A man buys a sports car and begins to enjoy it when he sees flashing lights in the rearview mirror.
He g-uns it and is rapidly up to 160km/h when he realizes what he is doing.
He slows down, then pulls over, and soon the cop pulls up behind him.
The officer comes up to the window and asks, “What were you thinking, taking off like that?”
“Well,” the man replies after thinking about it for a moment. “A few years ago, a police officer ran off with my wife.”
“What does that have to do with anything.”
“I thought you were bringing her back.”

A police officer in a small town stopped a motorist who was speeding down Main Street.
“But officer…” The man began, “I can explain.”
“Just be quiet,” the officer snapped. “I’m going to let you cool your heels in jail until the chief gets back…”
“But officer, I just wanted to say…”
“And I said to keep quiet! You’re going to jail!”
A few hours later the officer looked in on his prisoner.
The guy looked down, so to cheer him up a bit he said, “Lucky for you that the chief is at his daughter’s wedding. He’ll be in a good mood when he gets back.”
“Don’t count on it,” came the gloomy answer from the cell.
“I’m the groom.”
